The range of Korea’s Hankook Tire, which quite recently presented commercial tires Hankook Winter i*Cept LV RW12, has been augmented by yet another new winter model named Hankook Winter i*Pike X W429A, engineered to be installed on vehicles with high gravity centers. The company has also launched mass production of two all-season models Hankook Kinergy 4S2 X H750A and Hankook Vantra ST AS2 RA30 designed for SUVs and light trucks respectively.
The winter tires Winter i*Pike X were created on the basis of a passenger car model Hankook Winter i*pike RS2 W429, that has been able to win a lot of professional accolades from the experts of various testing organizations — not only last year, but this year as well.
The outward appearance of W429 and W429A is very similar; at the same time, the tread blocks of the latter are larger in size. The manufacturer claims that the total length of the sipes of the SUV tire model was increased by 23% and 14% lengthwise and crosswise, thanks to which Hankook Winter i*Pike X is characterized by increased stability on winter roads.
The model is available retail in 16 sizes with fitting diameters ranging from 15 to 17 inches (205/70 R15 — 265/65 R17).
The all-season tire Hankook Kinergy 4S2 X H750A should also be perceived as a modification of the passenger car tire model, in this specific instance Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750. It got the same tread pattern, but its inner construction takes into consideration all the nuances of being used on SUVs.
The assortment offer of Kinergy 4S2 X is limited to ten sizes for fitting diameters ranging from 17 to 20 inches.
The year-round operation tires Hankook Vantra ST AS2 RA30 were designed to replace the Hankook Radial RA10 model. A number of improvements that the engineers introduced in the tread pattern made a positive difference to the performance of this new model designed for vans and light trucks driven on snow and wet pavement. The specially designed technology Ice Philic ensures effective performance of these tires at low temperatures.
Vantra ST AS2 is already available on the European market in 15 sizes, the manufacturer planning to expand their size range in the future.
