Korea’s Hankook Tire, which in 2015 for the first time around launched its subsidiary brand Laufenn, announced a partial renewal of this brand’s selection. In the summer season 2020, starting with spring, new-generation passenger-car tires will be available in Europe, specifically the models Laufenn S FIT EQ+ and Laufenn G FIT EQ+. They will come to replace the current models Laufenn S FIT EQ (LK01) and Laufenn G FIT EQ (LK41) respectively.
Both new models have inherited the tread design of its predecessors. As for the pattern codes, the tire maker also decided to go the easiest way, keeping them intact.

At the same time, what was changed was the formula of the tread compound, as well as the mixing technologies, thanks to which the Laufenn S FIT EQ+ and Laufenn G FIT EQ+ models ensure higher stability of performance on wet and dry pavements alike.
Interestingly, before the official start of the sales, the Laufenn LK01 S FIT EQ Plus took part in the comparative summer tire test 2020, the results of whose elimination round were recently published by Auto Bild. In the wet and dry braking tests, determining to a large extent the tire’s overall safety level, this new «plus» Laufenn model scored the 14th place out of 20, thus making it to the final round.
