Pirelli Upgrades Cinturato P7 Touring Summer Tire to P7C2

Pirelli continues its practice of changing the tire generations without changing their official names. Just like in 2016, when the UHP model Pirelli P Zero tacitly grew up to its PZ4 version, which was indicated on the tire’s sidewall along with the other valuable information, the touring summer tire Cinturato P7 was similarly upgraded.

One can tell the new-generation tire of the Cinturato line both by the altered tread design and by the extra four-character sign «P7C2». While web-surfing, three different versions of this model’s spelling are most likely to come up: without any additional characters in its name, with a P7C2 sign, or with an addition of the launch year 2020.

Just like its predecessor model, which was put on the market in 2009, Pirelli Cinturato P7 (P7C2) has an asymmetric tread design, which was optimized together with the carcass construction and the tread compound. The changes, introduced by the designers, are aimed at finding the optimum balance between strong grip on wet pavement, fuel efficiency, and long expected mileage.

It is noted that the P7C2 version of Cinturato P7 touring summer tire, which will be available in 2020 in 29 sizes with fitting diameters from 16 to 19 inches and speed indexes T-Y (with of Pirelli’s patented technologies, such as Seal Inside, Run Flat, and Noise Cancelling System), is focused predominantly on the OE segment. At the same time, though, the most popular sizes will also be available on the aftermarket.
