For the first time around, Giti has published information about the independent test of the GT Radial SportActive 2 and GT Radial FE2 models, performed by the independent test organization TÜV SÜD.
For the tests, the GT Radial Sport Active 2 tires in size 235/35ZR19 91Y XL were fitted on a VW Golf. Such parameters were evaluated as straight hydroplaning resistance, wet braking from 80 to 20 km/h, dry handling response, and braking from 100 km/h to a full stop on dry pavement; according to the company, the GR Radial tires either surpassed their rivals or showed similar results.

The GT Radial SportActive 2 tire was introduced in March 2021. According to the manufacturer, it surpasses the previous model — SportActive — in such performance areas as wet braking (15%), wet handling response and hydroplaning resistance (10%) and tread life (5%). Thanks to the improvements, this model, which can be installed both on passenger cars and SUVs, was rated «A» for wet traction, and «B-D» for rolling resistance, demonstrating low noise level in accordance with the EU tire label.

During the in-company tests, the new Giti tire demonstrated improvements in the following performance areas: wet braking (15%), wet handling (12%), and hydroplaning resistance (7%) compared to the GT Radial Champiro FE1. In addition, the new model became better in terms of tread life — by 5%. All these improvements ensured the new tire an A rating (all sizes) for wet traction and «B-D» (depending on the size) for rolling resistance.
