This Falken model is packed with cool features, such as good snow performance, short braking distance in any weather conditions, good handling response on dry pavement, low noise emission, and attractive price. At the same time, it was not without weaknesses: this Falken tire is prone to understeer on wet pavement, and it has strong rolling resistance.

This is third time they’ve tested the Eurowinter HS01, and each time it gets a little closer to the leaders. This tyre’s steady improvement continues, although its grip on snow and in the wet still needs further development.

In spite of its great braking performance and safe handling on snow, Falken Eurowinter HS01 was placed by the test experts at the last (sixth) place of the tournament bracket. There were lots of reasons for that: poor lateral stability and understeer on wet pavement, which led to the devaluation of its overall score, as well as increased rolling resistance and road noise. Ultimately, only a «satisfactory» result.

The ninth place got scored by Falken Eurowinter HS01. While only average in terms of wet braking, it showed the highest hydroplaning resistance. What spoiled the overall impression, however, was the highest rolling resistance on test.
