Manufacturer's description
The Continental CrossContact RX is an asymmetric all-season touring tire, specifically engineered for SUVs and crossovers. Launched in 2019 by the renowned German tire manufacturer Continental, it represents the brand's second significant all-season development. The tire is designed to deliver stable traction on light snow, wet, and dry pavements, ensuring a smooth, noiseless ride with exceptionally low rolling resistance. Some sizes of the CrossContact RX even achieve Class A on the EU tire label for rolling resistance.
Features & Benefits
- Stable Traction: Offers reliable grip on light snow and wet and dry roads, providing versatile performance across seasons.
- Smooth Ride: Engineered for a noiseless and comfortable driving experience, enhancing passenger comfort.
- Low Rolling Resistance: Reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, contributing to better fuel efficiency and lower environmental impact.
- Optimized Tread Design: Enhances driving safety in mild winter conditions, though not recommended for deep or hard-packed snow.
- Increased Wet Traction: The wide and flat contact patch improves grip and reduces stopping distances on wet surfaces.
- Even Wear: Uniform pressure distribution across the contact patch prevents uneven tread wear, extending the tire’s lifespan.
- Noise Reduction: Varied pitch tread pattern minimizes road noise, providing a quieter ride.
Year Released
The Continental CrossContact RX was introduced in 2019, bringing advanced all-season performance and comfort. It serves as original equipment for several premium vehicles, replacing earlier models with enhanced features.
Regions Availability
The Continental CrossContact RX is available in the USA, Canada, Europe, South Korea, the Middle East, and Oceania. This broad distribution ensures that drivers across diverse climates and terrains can access its all-season benefits.
Vehicle Compatibility / Popular Vehicle Fitments

- Kia
- Land Rover Defender L663 (2019-2023)
- Alfa Romeo Stelvio 949 (2017-2024)

Its blend of advanced technologies, low rolling resistance, and enhanced wet traction make it a reliable and efficient choice for a wide range of driving conditions. Quiet ride, good traction for acceleration on dry roads.

What is good?
Good tread.
What is bad?
Less than 500 miles and they are already loud. Need to blast radio to drown out the noise.
