Federal Xplora R/T

Manufacturer's description

Federal Xplora R/T is a Highway Terrain all-season tire, presented by the Taiwan’s tire maker in 2019. It is characterized by great grip and great traction in off-road conditions, as well as by smooth ride on paved roads, what is generally expected from a Rugged-Terrain tire (intermediate between Mud- and All-Terrain).

Features:

  • Technologically advanced computer modeling for optimized tread pitch variation; perfectly placed tread sipes; and tread block alignment that greatly reduces noise, providing a more “civilized,” comfortable, smooth, and quiet ride;
  • Stone ejectors and an enhanced fatigue resistant compound that protect the tire from chips/cuts/rocks/other debris, “ensuring long life of the tire by preventing early failure due to off-road use;
  • Open shoulder grooves engineered “to keep the tire self-cleaning, evacuating water/mud/dirt/off-road debris. “They also provide “confident traction in any condition.

Notable Features

The Federal Xplora R/T model, which was about four years in the making, is essentially a cross between an all-terrain and a mud tire. It has unique tread pattern. For example, its central blocks look a little bit like asteroids from the «Star Wars», while the «terraced» design of the shoulder elements resembles the topography of the Grand Canyon.

Federal Xplora R/T The four-rib design increases the road holding ability of Federal Xplora R/T, at the same time serving to reduce the noise emission, and increasing handling predictability and riding comfort. The open sipes on the shoulder areas speed up the evacuation of water, dirt, and off-road debris from the contact patch, also providing extra traction capabilities. The stone ejectors prevent road stones from getting stuck between the tread blocks, thus extending the treadlife.

The heavy-duty tread compound of Xplora R/T makes the tire cut- tear- and puncture resistant.

Buying these tires I couldn't imagine that they are SO quiet. These are the quietest tires I've ever had! Steering response is awesome. Wet and dry performance is definitely great advantage of this tire. You won't regret buying them.

I've made a nice trip to mountains after buying these tires. I went about 1,500 miles then and had no any problems on the wet mountain road. Now I've made 4,300 miles and the tires look like new. There are no signs of wearing out. I'm pleased with them so much!
