Hankook Kinergy Eco2 K435

Manufacturer's description

The smart choice for driver and environment. The Kinergy Eco² is a summer tyre that has been developed for modern small, compact and mid-range vehicles. Like its predecessor, which returned very good test results, a focus has been placed on optimising rolling resistance along with a further increase in mileage and noise reduction without compromising a solid performance in wet and dry conditions.

Tyre Structure:

  • High grip silica compound (Improved dry / wet traction and lower rolling resistance);
  • Jointless full cover reinforcement belt (Ideal tread strength);
  • Wide steel belt layer (Increases width of the contact area for better dry and wet handling);
  • Equilibrium polyester carcass line (Enhanced sidewall stiffness and durability, retaining comfort);
  • High stiffness bead filler (Better handling and steering response);
  • Strong single strand bead wire (Improved uniformity and tyre fitting).

Notable Features

Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 K435 performance is a fuel saving summer tire with an asymmetric tread design, developed by the Japanese technology center of Korea’s Hankook Tire to be fitted on compact K-cars. Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 K435 According to the manufacturer, the key features of this 2017 model include: low rolling resistance, high hydroplaning resistance, and short stopping distances in any summer weather conditions. Tire Structure Evidently, this model is an upgraded version of the Hankook Kinergy Eco K425, whose mass production started back in 2011. The only thing that makes the second-generation model different is the extra sipes on the center rib, situated on the inner side of the asymmetric tread. Center Rib The energy-efficient performance of the Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 K435 is ensured by the tread compound with a high content of finely ground silica that minimizes heat emission, which leads to reduction of rolling resistance and, hence, improved environmental characteristics. Circumferential Grooves The asymmetric tread pattern of this “green” model prevents uneven treadwear, at the same time increasing the stability of handling response both in wet and dry road conditions. Aqua Edge Technology The wide circumferential grooves improve the wet grip of the Hankook K435 Kinergy Eco 2. A three-step structure of the lateral grooves speeds up evacuation of water from the contact area. The use of the Aqua Edge technology is also aimed at increasing the tire’s grip on wet pavement.

In addition, the shape of the lateral grooves is “fine-tuned” to increase cornering stability, while the differently designed stiffness ribs of the Hankook K435 Kinergy Eco 2 improve the tire’s straight and lateral grip.

At 26,000 miles on my highway only, well maintained Toyota Avalon Hybrid the tires were so noisy I thought someone swapped out their off road mudder tires. I was embarrassed to drive the car. I contacted Hankook America. They would not do a thing to remedy the situation insisting I have the alignment checked. The Toyota dealer did that for me and the results were near perfect. Still no discount or help at all. I gave them several opportunities to make an acceptable agreement for both of us to no avail. I replaced them with Michelin Primacy Tour all season tires. The handling, ride comfort, and fuel economy were all much better with the Michelin tires that were also less expensive. I will not accept a Hankook tire on any new cars or trucks I purchase in the future.
