Hankook Ventus RS4

Description

The Hankook Ventus RS4 (Z232) is an extreme performance summer tire designed for high-performance compact and mid-size passenger cars. Released in 2018, this tire leverages technologies and materials used in racing tires for circuit racing. It offers uncompromising precision in handling and exceptional grip at high speeds, making it a top choice for performance enthusiasts.

Features & Benefits

  • Symmetrical and Directional Tread Design: The V-shaped arrangement of drainage grooves and large block sizes increase the contact patch, providing near-square contact area for improved grip on dry surfaces and stability during maneuvers.
  • Wide Central Rib: Enhances directional stability and steering precision.
  • Dual Wide Grooves: Positioned alongside the central rib, these grooves enhance resistance to aquaplaning.
  • U-Shaped Shoulder Blocks: Limit block movement, improving stability during cornering. Variable groove angles in the shoulder blocks further enhance maneuverability.
  • Nylon Reinforcements: Positioned under the shoulder zones to minimize deformation under lateral acceleration forces, improving grip stability and preventing uneven wear.
  • Racing Compound: Composed of carbon black, special resins, and polymers, similar to those used in racing tires, enhancing wet grip, thermal conductivity, and abrasion resistance.

Man, these Hankook Ventus RS4s... best tires Ive used in the midrange for hitting the track. Compared to Yokohama AD08 these are way better – even better than the old RS3s. Only downside is they wear out fast, barely last a season. Still, already on my second set. If youre into track days, these are the way to go.

Used these RS4s for track days: cant overheat them easily and they wear relatively slowly.

They break loose predictably. But for city driving, theyre just okay.

In the rain? Gotta drive super carefully, they hold poorly on wet roads.

Got these to replace the old RS3s for track days.. they need warming up to work well, cold they only work about 10-15%. Better grip than RS3 - where I could take corners at 120, now I can do 130. Stiffer though, and they hate water. In the wet, they’re unpredictable. Gotta know, these aren't for everyday driving, only for high-speed city and track use.
