For context, I have lightly worn Yoko Advan Apex tires up front and replaced rear Firestone Indy 500s with these Sumis and 90% of mileage is hard driving in the twisties. I tend to reach a comfortable limit, learn it, and drive consistently at it in the mountains. I'd found an excellent balance with the Yoko's up front and Firestones out back and had the best performance short of PS4S I'd found so far, so as good as the Sumis are, I can't help but disappointed. These would be great if you're coming from all seasons or lower-tier summer tires, but I found myself sliding WAY too much after the break in period. At lower temperatures and in light wet conditions, these do beat out the Indy 500s and line up with what I'd experienced from Nitto's ultra summer series in general use, but who buys summer ultra performance for wet/cold? The difference is so drastic in normal, hot, sticky conditions that for safety's sake, I'm strongly considering just eating the cost and replacing these with another set of *I'm not an advertiser but figure it out*. Man, I really wanted to love these, and I would if I wasn't the type to feel that extra 5% performance gain. 4/5 given most people aren't that type. It's also a high value, but given the competition, it's not the best value.
