Hankook Tire Selected as Original Equipment on Porsche Cayenne

Since June of this year, the Porsche Cayenne has been supplied with Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo3 SUV tires in their updated version. The automaker homologated tires in size 285/40 ZR 21 at the front and 315/35 ZR 21 at the rear respectively.

This is not the first case of collaboration between the two companies. Earlier on, Porsche Macan was supplied with OE tires Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 SUV.

The fact that the Hankook tires meet the high demands of these SUVs is proven by the N1 sign on their sidewall. The tires of this Korean brand not only ensure great handling, crisp steering response, and reliable traction on wet pavement, but they also are very fuel efficient thanks to their low rolling resistance.

«Porsche develops particularly powerful sportscars with a high utility value. This makes tire development very complex," said Han-Jun Kim, president of Hankook Tire Europe. «We are therefore very pleased with this original equipment as it impressively demonstrates the performance of our products.»

«Due to the vehicle load in combination with sporty driveability, low rolling resistance and high load capacity, it was very challenging to develop the tire design for the Porsche Cayenne," explained Klaus Krause, head of the European Research and Development Centre at Hankook Tire. «The new Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV meets these requirements closely in both wet and dry conditions

In addition to «sporty» handling, the new flagship Hankook tires for SUVs are also characterized by fuel efficiency and long expected mileage. The tread features a new generation of materials based on high-performance natural resins. This not only increases the grip level in the peak of the power output, but the tire also continues to deliver this high level of grip over a much wider temperature range, giving it a very wide limit.

Furthermore, special nylon materials applied in the so-called ‘bead-packing’ process in the sidewall ensure very high driving stability, even under load. The cap ply hybrid aramid material over the steel cord belts, in combination with the two-layer rayon carcass construction, ensure good resistance and durability.
