Semperit Speed-Life 3 is an asymmetric summer tire for compact and golf-class passenger cars, as well as deluxe cars, including city SUVs. It is characterized by precise steering response on dry pavement, improved performance in the wet, high resistance to wear, and increased expected mileage.
The Semperit Speed-Life 3 is a new model in the summer range 2020 from one of the subsidiary brands of Continental, which came to replace Semperit Speed-Life 2. The main focus was made on increasing the expected mileage of this third-generation tire. The designers were able to increase it by 10%, yet this was achieved at the expense of sacrificing 5% of hydroplaning resistance of Semperit Speed-Life 3, and increasing the braking distance on dry pavement by 2%.
Parallel to the increase in the expected mileage, there is also a 3% improvement in handling response and wet braking performance, the noise level reduced by 2%. The environmental performance of Semperit Speed-Life 3 remained at the level of its predecessor.
The optimized geometry of the Semperit Speed-Life 3 tread pattern with wide drainage grooves in the middle section and extra «biting» edges speeds up the water drainage from the contact patch, improves the traction, and ensures more control, at the same time reducing the braking distance on wet pavement.
The improved rib structure is conducive to more balanced distribution of the pressure over the tire’s road contact area, which leads to lower tread wear of Speed Life 3, as well as longer expected mileage.
The rigidity of the tire ensures crisp steering response in the dry, as well as great stability, particularly while cornering.
