Yokohama Rubber conducted in Japan the presentation of three models, two of which — BluEarth-XT AE61 and Geolandar CV G058 — are absolutely new ones, while the third one, BluEarth-4S AW21, incidentally, certified by TÜV SÜD testing organization, is already available in Europe, where this tire maker is trying to expand its presence.
The launch of the Yokohama BluEarth-XT AE61 and Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 models is caused by the company’s research of the market trends, where the volumes of SUV and CUV sales are constantly growing. The first of them, designed to be used in summer weather conditions, is positioned as the best tire for urban and highway driving, while the second is designed for year-round operation and is engineered to provide maximum comfort during long trips.
During the presentation, the performance of the new tires was compared to that of the Yokohama Geolandar SUV G055 tire model. In the case of Geolandar CV, the tire maker clearly indicated that this is a direct replacement of G055, says the technical expert of Shina Guide. It was announced, among other things, that the cabin noise of G058 was reduced by 9%, the road noise by 34% (with the same level of «dry» traction), while the lateral stability on wet pavement was improved by 13%. In addition, the wet braking performance was improved by 12%.
Parallel to that, it became known that the BluEarth-XT model surpasses the Geolandar SUV model in dry braking (8%), wet braking (16%), and its noise emission is 7% lower.
The Yokohama BluEarth-XT AE61 range consists of 18 sizes with fitting diameters from 16 to 20 inches, while the Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 range will include 32 fitments with fitting diameters from 15 to 20 inches.
