Laufenn S Fit EQ+ (Plus) is a high-performance summer tire for powerful passenger cars; this model is characterized by efficient wet braking and precise steering response on dry pavement, long treadlife, and high fuel efficiency.

The UHP model Laufenn S Fit EQ+ must be perceived as the upgraded version of the Laufenn S Fit EQ: the manufacturer decided to keep the tread design intact, giving to the “plus” version of the tire the pattern code of its predecessor, LK01. However, changes in the performance of the new summer model 2020 did take place – its wet braking performance and handling response have been dramatically improved. As the tire maker’s in-company tests show, the use of the 2nd generation Laufenn tread compound did make a positive difference – on wet pavement, S Fit EQ+ brings the car to a standstill much earlier than its predecessor did. The improvement is 9%, which will serve to prevent a lot of traffic accidents.

Specifically, the tire’s performance on wet pavement has been dramatically improved thanks to the use of highly refined top quality silica-containing compound. The upgraded technology of mixing the rubber compound made it possible to grind silica down nano sizes, which ultimately led to robust performance ensured by Laufenn LK01. The perfected asymmetric tread design of this tire model helps to reduce the road noise, increase traction while cornering, and provide excellent handling capabilities on dry pavement. The optimal rigidity of the tread blocks is ensured by the “lintel” bridges.

The tread pattern and the special undertread layer minimize the Laufenn S Fit EQ Plus LK01’s rolling resistance and improve the tire’s environmental performance. The optimized tread profile, developed by digital simulation, not only improves this tire’s braking capabilities, but also prevents uneven treadwear thanks to balanced distribution of load in the contact area.
