Kumho Ecsta PS71 is an Ultra-High Performance sports tire, which the Korean tire maker put into mass production in 2016. Thanks to the asymmetric tread pattern, the tire is characterized by an excellent wet and dry grip, lightning-fast steering response, and quick emergency braking, as well as by strong lateral hydroplaning resistance and excellent stability at high speeds.
The passenger-car tire Kumho Ecsta PS71 came to replace the Kumho KU39 Ecsta Le Sport model, in comparison to which it received a number of improvements. The company’s tire technologists largely focused on improving the PS71’s wet performance. According to the manufacturer, the wet braking performance and handling response of this model were improved by 8% and 10% respectively.
Kumho says that the determining factors of such tangible improvements are the optimized design of the Kumho PS71 tread blocks and the use of high-tech innovative components in the tread compound, such as butadiene-styrene polymerization rubber of the latest generation.
The asymmetric tread pattern of the Kumho Ecsta PS71 ensures rapid evacuation of water from the contact area and effective wet braking. In addition, along with the outstanding wet and dry performance levels, this tire ensures a smooth and comfortable ride with minimum cabin noise.
The size range of this model assumes use in powerful and prestigious best-selling sports cars, which are produced by such auto giants as Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes.
