February 1, 2020, Michelin launches the sales of the new fuel-efficient tire Michelin Energy Saver 4 in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. Designed to be used in the summertime, the new model will come in 23 sizes with fitting diameters ranging from 13 to 16 inches.
As the tire maker notes, the Energy Saver 4 will be manufactured in two tread design modifications. With a width of 185 mm and lower, they will have a 3-rib design; with a width of 195 mm and higher — 4-rib design.
The digit 4 in the name of the new model indicates the fact that it belongs to the same generation of tires as Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Michelin Primacy 4; however, being essentially the successor of Michelin Energy Saver+ (Plus), it only represents the third generation of the «green» line of this French brand.
The Michelin Energy Saver 4 is characterized by a smooth ride, improved braking performance on wet pavement, and low rolling resistance. The braking distance ensured by the new model in rainy weather became 5.5% shorter than that of its predecessor, the cabin noise was reduced by 5%, and the road noise was reduced by 8%.
