Goodride SW608 is a budget winter tire with acceptable straight-line economy but weak grip where it matters most. Steering feels vague on dry roads, stops are long, and recovery from abrupt inputs is late. In rain it lacks bite—early under/oversteer and low cornering grip—so confidence drops quickly, even if basic aquaplaning resistance is passable. Winter ability is modest: snow and especially ice braking stretch, traction is limited, and handling remains imprecise. Road noise is noticeable and longevity is below average, dulling any savings at the checkout.

The Goodride Snowmaster SW608, despite its budget-friendly price, struggled throughout the tests and finished last. While it performed better than a summer tire in snow, placing sixth in both braking and acceleration, it was slowest on the snow handling circuit, hampered by weak grip and unresponsive steering.

Its biggest shortcomings were in wet conditions. In wet braking, it took nearly three meters longer to stop than the next slowest tire, and it lacked traction on the wet handling circuit, finishing last. It was also at the bottom in both hydroplaning tests. In dry conditions, the Goodride required almost four meters more to stop compared to the best-performing tire.

Its only decent results came in cabin noise and fuel economy, but overall, the Goodride Snowmaster SW608 proved that price reflects performance, especially when it comes to critical wet-weather safety.

The Goodride SW608, ranked eleventh, is not recommended for comprehensive driving needs. Its primary advantages are its affordability and a good level of comfort. However, it significantly underperforms in critical areas affecting safety and handling. It lacks lateral stability on snow, has poor snow handling, and inadequate handling on both wet and dry pavement. Additionally, it exhibits extended braking distances on both wet and dry surfaces, which substantially compromises safety. While its price and comfort are positive aspects, they are outweighed by its inability to provide reliable traction and braking across various surfaces.

The main outsider of the Auto Zeitung winter tire test 2019 is the model Goodride SW608. This tire has issues on snowy roads, and because of that the test experts ask the drivers to refrain from using this Chinese tire brand altogether.
