Announcing the construction of the first European tire manufacturing base in Serbia, and establishing its first European R&D Center in Germany (Willich, North Rhine-Westphalia), in 2019 Toyo Tires made a clear statement about the importance of the European market, on which this Japanese tire maker is intending to expand its presence.
This year, the company is broadening its European range by introducing the new UHP model Toyo Proxes Sport A, which is essentially a modernized version of the Toyo Proxes Sport, available on the market since 2016. The asymmetric design of the new summer tire, whose visual appearance is very similar to that of the «basic» model, nevertheless underwent a few changes. Specifically, the central rib got more taper sipes; the tread blocks on the inner shoulder of the asymmetric tread grew a little bit wider.
The main changes, however, were made to the inner construction and the rubber compound, which generally made it possible to boost the A-model’s traction on wet pavement, improve handling response and riding comfort, and extend the tread life.

The manufacturer notes that its product must also become more attractive for the European tire dealers due to expansion of the size range of the friction winter tire Toyo Observe S944, officially presented in December 2019.
