You'll have no problem at all in snow with those on your Subaru STI. My aunt has the same tires on her Forester, last winter I had her car for a week when she went to California to visit my cousin. I drove it during a bad storm and the confidence I had with the Blizzaks and Subaru's really good AWD I felt a lot better about driving in those kinds of conditions
What is good?
This is a great tire and handled our winter just fine.
Comments
I'm from NY so have experience with many different snow tires over the years. The Blizzak series is hands down the best winter tire you can get, very epic, saves your ass if you live in a snowy climate.

I have driven many cars with and without winter tires, and I never feel more comfortable in either. I drive a 2010 Mazda 3 and the Dynamic Stability Control makes driving in the winter really easy. My car is a manual so braking is not an issue, since I can use my engine and brakes to slow me down and almost never slide (unless I want to) :P I have driven my buddies car recently, 2000 Honda Civic, with winter tires and I was sliding and losing traction a lot more frequently, even when making small turns. His tires are not as wide, but I was still surprised to feel so much traction issues.
What is good?
Perfect tires for snow and ice conditions.
