Hankook Winter i'Cept iZ2 W616 is a passenger-car friction winter tire that ensures extra comfortable ride. This tire is characterized by excellent traction on wet pavement, as well as on snow and ice covered roads, great road holding ability, maneuverability, and precise and consistent handling response. It also ensures extra ride comfort and short braking distance on winter surfaces.
The Hankook W616 Winter i'Cept iZ2 model, which was introduced on the eve of 2015/2016 winter season, came to replace the Winter i'Cept iZ tire. The main difference of the new-generation model is directional tread pattern.
Such a choice was not accidental. The aggressive unidirectional tread design does a better job of dispelling water and melted snow from the contact area, hence, more reliable traction and grip on winter roads.
“Clawless” grip
Thanks to diminishing the size of the tread blocks, the Korean tire maker was able to increase their overall number by 20%. This led to an increase in the number of 3D sipes, which stabilize shifty tread blocks in any road conditions, and an increase in the number of the leading edges that cut through the water film, which significantly improved the Hankook Winter i'Cept iZ2 W616 acceleration and braking performance on snow and ice.
The Hankook W616 tread compound contains silica that helps keep the tire elastic even at deep freezing temperatures. And this means that this tire model will ensure reliable handling response and driving safety on snow and ice covered roads even in the most severe frost. Also, silica accounts for extra traction on wet pavement.

Bought this set to replace the old Blizzaks. I'm impressed with snow and ice performance. My car is quiet and predictable on the dry road but it doesn't handle as well as with my previous tires. All in all it's great value for money and I would definitely buy them again.

I'm very pleased with them very much. Recently we had the snowstorm and I found out that my front-wheel car could easily drive in unplowed snow. And the braking is very impressive. Also my car is very quiet in the dry now.

These tires drove through 14" of snow with no problems. These tires are the best on ice I've ever had. We managed to travel across the area with warm weather with no issue. We made sure in this in our Phoenix trip 3 winters ago.

There are no problems with snow grip, and the Hankook model has a rapid steering response, including at high speeds. On wet pavement, the Hankook tire is inferior to the competition due to a fuzzy steering response and a long braking distance, but it must be said that the tire maintains the rear grip quite well when bypassing an obstacle. In the dry, the tire’s response to the driver’s inputs is somewhat delayed, yet logical, and the tire will not bring you any unpleasant surprises.
