Yokohama Tire to Introduce Four New Developments Prior to the End of 2019

The trends of UHP and CUV/SUV market segments make the tire manufacturers learn to quickly respond to the consumers’ ever-changing demands. Yokohama Tire also does not stay uninvolved: before the end of 2019, it will launch four more new developments in the US and Canada markets. The most relevant of them are the winter tire Yokohama iceGuard iG53 designed for passenger cars and minivans, and the summer sports model Yokohama ADVAN Apex V601.

For year-round use, the assortment of this Japanese brand will get two new models — Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+, designed to be fitted on SUVs, and Yokohama AVID Ascend LX, designed for a wide range of vehicles.

Over the last few years, SUV tires, including the ones engineered for light commercial vehicles, became the main branch of Yokohama’s initiatives. We will remind you that just in the beginning of 2019 this tire maker announced the launch of Geolandar X-CV and Geolandar X-AT models meant to broaden one of the newest and already the most reputed lines in this segment.

Now, however, the developers’ focus has slightly shifted in a different direction, and they placed their bets on specialized winter tires and all-season models with well-balanced operational features.

In August 2019, the company will officially present the Yokohama ADVAN Apex V601 that is meant to become a new flagship summer model. According to the manufacturer, these tires were engineered and developed with account taken of the requirements of the USA secondary tire market.

In September, Yokohama AVID Ascend will be replaced with a totally new model Yokohama AVID Ascend LX, while Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S will be replaced by its upgraded version Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S+. Both new models are characterized by significant performance improvements compared to their predecessors, as well as extra new sizes available.

For driving in winter conditions, the company has developed a new studless tire model Yokohama iceGuard iG53, already available to the Canadian motorists. Their key features are dependable grip on ice, slush, and wet pavement, coupled with great riding comfort.

Yokohama iG53 employs the BluEarth complex of technologies that guarantees optimum fuel efficiency and minimizes the vehicle’s negative impact on the environment.
