Auto Bild: Summer Tire Test R17 2019

AUTOBILD has tested 53 summer tires - and knows what's in store for the coming season. From expensive premium tires to the no-name-cheap Schnapper from the Far East, everything was there. In order to get into the main round of our big summer tire test 2019, only one thing mattered: the length of the braking distance. On wet and dry roads every summer tire had to prove its staying power. Each centimeter was very important, because only the best 20 tires of the test dimension 225/45 R17 made the leap to the further dynamic tests and the cost check in the grand finale. The summer tires of the expensive premium manufacturers came easily into the top ten, so far there was no surprise.
